About the position

The Senior Field Service Engineer or Senior Electrical Services Specialist at Siemens is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power distribution equipment at Hyper-Scale Data Center sites. This role involves working with various electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, and protective relays, while ensuring efficient and safe operations. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to provide expert advice and training to customers and field employees.

Responsibilities

  • Create test scripts and MOP (Methods of Procedures) related to Data Centers Cx activities.
  • Set communication devices and topology industrial networks; upload HMI/PLC programs; install I/O and CPUs.
  • Integrate 3rd Party EPMS; perform initial testing, operation, troubleshooting, and modification of customer equipment and systems.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of MV or LV Circuit breakers, metal clad/vacuum switchgear, and LV equipment.
  • Perform Equipment Condition Assessments and troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
  • Provide on-site assistance with programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation processes.
  • Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.
  • Act as a technical resource to customers and field employees, providing instructions and training on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Complete and submit reports covering all job activity and maintain complex tools and test equipment.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits.
  • 8 or more years' experience in the installation and/or maintenance of Power Automation Switchboards.
  • 8 or more years of experience using electrical test sets for AC and DC high potential testing and other power system test practices.
  • Skilled at interpreting protective coordination studies and testing and configuring protective relays.
  • Demonstrated capability of reading bills of material, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports.
  • Experience with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with the arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV and related electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
  • Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
