About the position

As a Field Service Engineer specializing in Patient Monitoring, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer relationships through your technical expertise. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance of patient monitoring equipment at various customer sites. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, ensuring that you adhere to customer entitlements, set clear expectations, and meet commitments and arrival times to effectively address and resolve customer needs. You will need to understand the customer's business and competitive environment to generate service revenue effectively. In addition to customer service, you will actively participate as a member of the regional work team, working collaboratively to improve team processes and identify any training gaps. You will be expected to seek out opportunities to increase your capability and capacity, which may involve becoming qualified in multiple modalities and learning new tools. Administrative duties are also a significant part of this role, as you will need to perform tasks within established Philips, State, and Federal regulatory requirements and timeframes. This includes managing timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, Field Change Orders (FCO), preventative maintenance (PM), installation documents, and other related paperwork while adhering to established training, quality, and safety requirements. Your technical responsibilities will involve utilizing tools, support, resources, and escalation processes to resolve customer and system problems in a timely and effective manner. You will be responsible for completing PMs, FCOs, installations, and all related tasks, which include diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical problems. The role requires travel across the specified geography, with an average driving time of 1-4 hours daily, and may exceed 50% at times. Occasional overnight stays and travel by air and/or train may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements and setting clear expectations.
  • Install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain patient monitoring equipment at customer sites.
  • Actively participate as a member of the regional work team to improve processes and identify training gaps.
  • Perform all administrative duties within established regulatory requirements and timeframes.
  • Utilize tools and resources to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively.
  • Complete preventative maintenance, Field Change Orders, installations, and related tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience in a diagnostic imaging service environment or in electromechanical industries, preferably with patient monitoring devices.
  • Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment.
  • Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • Ability to work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with patient monitoring devices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare settings.
