About the position

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. The work model for the role is remote, allowing for flexibility while contributing to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division. You will be mainly accountable for working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points. This includes performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which you are certified to perform. Additionally, you will prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. Acting as a trainer when needed for field service associates and customers will also be part of your responsibilities.

  • Act as a trainer for field service associates and customers when needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or foreign equivalent degree in engineering or other technical field and minimum 2 years of experience in marine field service.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or similar field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in the marine field service preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to build commitment within diverse and fragmented environments.
  • Comfortable working within confined spaces including vessels, propulsion systems, and Cofferdams.
  • Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
  • Knowledge of marine propulsion, power generation, and power distribution.
  • Knowledge of marine steering systems (hydraulic & electrical).
  • Experience with confined space entry and work environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and design technical drawings and schematics utilizing computer design software (AutoCAD).
