About the position

The Field Service Engineer - AVG Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Serco plays a crucial role in supporting the United States Navy's NAVFAC AT/FP program. This position involves the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated vehicle gates and associated security systems, ensuring the protection of mission-critical assets and personnel. The engineer will work collaboratively within a team to provide integrated engineering and configuration services, contributing to the overall mission of safeguarding against various threats.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain Automated Vehicle Gates (AVGs), Automated Personnel Turnstiles (APTs), Access Control Systems, Vehicle and Personnel Sensors, Human Interface Devices, CCTV Cameras, and associated transmission devices.
• Identify faults, analyze readings, and repair product failures, ordering and replacing parts as needed.
• Train employees on the use and maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs.

Requirements

• An active DoD Secret clearance.
• A bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 4 years' experience in the field.
• Ability to travel locally and OCONUS up to 50% of the time as needed.
• A solid understanding of electrical and electronic troubleshooting, and the ability to read and interpret associated drawings.
• Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures related to the job description.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with access gates and associated hardware, software, systems and manufacturers including but not limited to Lenel, Milestone, Axis CCTV, License Plate Readers, ID Card Readers, Access Control Logic.
