The 2025 Field Service Engineer (FSE) Summer Intern position is part of an "Early Talent Strategy" focused on building a pipeline of engineer talent for Field Services. This position is part of the Instrument and Enterprise Services Division (IES) of about 3,000 colleagues. Through our premier brand, Unity Lab Services, our Field Service team offers customized service solutions and world-class experts to uniquely address customer needs. Whether companies are looking to arrange for service on one instrument or are seeking resources to manage service and support for their labs, we have the solution to meet their needs. The Summer Intern FSE role will have four (4) major components: Gain invaluable insights and practical knowledge by observing and learning from experienced FSEs (Field Service Engineers). Understand the intricacies of our business and witness the dedication required to deliver exceptional service to our customers. Take on a specific project linked to the Field Service Engineering business. This hands-on experience will allow you to apply your skills and contribute to real-world challenges in Field Services. Highlight your project findings and share your FSE Summer Intern experiences with our Divisional Leadership Team (DLT). This is an opportunity to demonstrate your growth and network to make an impression within Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. Engage in a meaningful one-day volunteer project within your local community. Contribute to a cause that aligns with our values and leaves a positive impact beyond the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Gain invaluable insights and practical knowledge by observing and learning from experienced FSEs.
  • Take on a specific project linked to the Field Service Engineering business.
  • Highlight project findings and share experiences with the Divisional Leadership Team.
  • Engage in a meaningful one-day volunteer project within the local community.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering and returning to school as a rising Senior.
  • Preferred fields include Chemistry, Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Must have a satisfactory academic record and be in good standing at their respective college or university.
  • Customer Service work experience is a plus.
  • Engineering, Robotics, and/or IT work experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with computer technology including Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
