The 2025 Field Service Engineer (FSE) Summer Intern position is part of an "Early Talent Strategy" focused on building a pipeline of engineering talent for Field Services. We are looking for motivated Summer Interns interested in pursuing a career in engineering and passionate about delivering exceptional service to customers in the field. After college graduation, you will be eligible for an open, full-time Field Service Engineer position to launch an exciting career in Field Service Engineering. As a Field Service Engineer Summer Intern, you will gain invaluable insights and practical knowledge by observing and learning from experienced FSEs. You will understand the intricacies of our business and witness the dedication required to deliver exceptional service to our customers. The role will involve taking on a specific project linked to the Field Service Engineering business, allowing you to apply your skills and contribute to real-world challenges in Field Services. You will also have the opportunity to highlight your project findings and your FSE Summer Intern experiences with our Divisional Leadership Team (DLT), demonstrating your growth and networking within Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. Additionally, you will engage in a meaningful one-day volunteer project within your local community, contributing to a cause that aligns with our values and leaves a positive impact beyond the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and learn from experienced Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to gain practical knowledge.
  • Complete a specific project linked to the Field Service Engineering business.
  • Present project findings and experiences to the Divisional Leadership Team (DLT).
  • Participate in a one-day volunteer project within the local community.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, returning as a rising Senior.
  • Preferred fields include Chemistry, Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Must have a satisfactory academic record and be in good standing at their respective college or university.
  • Customer Service work experience is a plus.
  • Engineering, Robotics, and/or IT work experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other hardware/software applications.

  • Self-starter with a desire to learn and deliver excellent customer experiences.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to learn and complete projects.
