About the position

As a Field Service Engineer specializing in Ultrasound, you will play a crucial role in enhancing customer relationships through your technical expertise. Your primary responsibilities will include the installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment at various customer sites. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, ensuring that you meet customer entitlements, set clear expectations, and adhere to arrival times to effectively address and resolve customer needs. You will need to understand the customer's business and competitive environment to generate service revenue effectively. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, you will actively participate as a member of the regional work team. This involves working collaboratively to improve team processes and identifying any training gaps. You will be expected to seek out opportunities to increase your capability and capacity, which may include becoming qualified in multiple modalities and learning new tools. Your role will also involve performing all administrative duties in compliance with Philips, state, and federal regulatory requirements. This includes managing timesheets, service work orders, expense reports, Field Change Orders (FCO), preventative maintenance (PM), installation documents, and other related paperwork while adhering to established training, quality, and safety requirements. You will utilize various tools, support resources, and escalation processes to resolve customer and system problems in a timely and effective manner. Completing PMs, FCOs, installations, and all related tasks will be part of your daily responsibilities, which include diagnosing and resolving electronic, network, and mechanical issues. The position requires travel across the specified geography, with an average driving time of 1-4 hours daily, and may exceed 50% at times. Occasional overnight stays and travel by air and/or train may also be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by adhering to customer entitlements and meeting commitments and arrival times.
  • Understand the customer's business and competitive environment to generate service revenue.
  • Actively participate as a member of the regional work team to improve processes and identify training gaps.
  • Perform all administrative duties within established regulatory requirements, including timesheets and service work orders.
  • Utilize tools and resources to resolve customer and system problems timely and effectively.
  • Complete preventative maintenance, Field Change Orders, installations, and related tasks.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a diagnostic imaging service environment or 4+ years in electromechanical industries.
  • Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment.
  • Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with different modalities in diagnostic imaging.
  • Knowledge of tools and test equipment used in the field service environment.
