About the position

GovCIO is seeking a remote Field Service Engineer V to maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments. This role involves planning and implementing network security measures, monitoring system performance, and ensuring proper documentation exists for operational instructions. The engineer will also write or modify scripts to resolve performance issues and recommend improvements to systems and network configurations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network/system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
• Prepare or ensure that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
• Write or modify basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience or commensurate experience in field engineering.
• Ability to maintain a public trust clearance.
