This includes not only the installation of machinery but also training customers on its operation and providing ongoing technical assistance as needed. In this role, the Field Service Engineer will act as a vital communication link between the customer and Makino, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed and resolved. The position may also require occasional participation in activities outside of the primary product line, allowing for a diverse range of experiences and challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro-mechanical systems, including motors, drives, and transformers, and will be knowledgeable in machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair. Candidates should be prepared for regional travel, which is estimated to be about 25% of the time. This travel is essential for providing on-site support and ensuring that customers can effectively utilize Makino's advanced manufacturing technology. Responsibilities

  • Install, train, and provide technical knowledge and troubleshooting on the product line at the customer's facility.
  • Act as a communication link between the customer and Makino.
  • Participate occasionally in activities outside of the team product line.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
  • Ability to present a professional image.
  • Good electro-mechanical skills, including knowledge of motors, drives, and transformers.
  • Knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair, or a broad shop background.
  • Availability for regional travel about 25%.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, either through co-op, internship, or full/part-time job.
  • 2 Year Technical degree (Electrical/Automation) and 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • US Passport and ability to travel both nationally and internationally.
  • Valid Driver's License.
