About the position

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for supporting customers by performing maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of laboratory instruments in various settings, including pharmaceutical laboratories and research institutions. This role involves hands-on training to develop skills necessary for servicing customer equipment effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on laboratory instruments.
• Promote the customer's long-term interests by extending the life of their instruments.
• Effectively communicate with customers and account team members to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Establish fluency in relevant service documentation, including service reports and IQ/OQ documentation.
• Create and maintain customer service logs and documentation accurately.
• Record service reports, time entries, and the use of repair parts accurately.
• Follow company and customer on-site procedures, including safety requirements and SOPs.
• Contribute to SOP formulations as needed.
• Represent and promote the company in a positive, professional manner.
• Serve as a member of the customer account team, contributing technical expertise to resolve customer questions.
• Attend service training and department meetings as required.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience servicing electronic/mechanical equipment.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations, including overnight travel.
• Solid critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• Completion of Background Investigation and Motor Vehicle Record Check.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in servicing laboratory instruments or similar equipment.
• Familiarity with GxP protocols and safety requirements.
