About the position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) at Ipsen USA is responsible for planning and coordinating assignments related to the installation, startup, and maintenance of advanced heat treatment systems. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, performing scheduled maintenance, and establishing strong relationships with customers to ensure high-quality service and support. The FSE will also conduct customer training and collaborate with various teams to resolve equipment issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Install and start up new equipment or modify existing equipment at customer facilities.
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to repair equipment and troubleshoot faults.
  • Analyze equipment reports and documentation to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Test and inspect equipment to determine the root cause of malfunctions.
  • Coordinate problem-solving activities with central support structures.
  • Maintain records of customer site visits and detail service reports.
  • Analyze technical problem reports to identify trends and recommend modifications.
  • Serve as a communication link between the customer and the Regional Service Manager (RSM).
  • Conduct courtesy customer visits during slow periods to inspect equipment and advise on service needs.
  • Develop and conduct customer training on equipment operation and safety.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Two-year college or technical school education, or two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of database, internet, and spreadsheet software; enhanced knowledge of PLC programs, RS Logics, and Wonderware.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and read electrical drawings.
  • Mechanical skills to oversee and conduct installation of complex equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or energy industries.
  • Familiarity with advanced process technology and heat treatment systems.
