About the position

The Field Service Engineer position is a critical role within a well-established company that has been a global supplier of metal-cutting machine tools for over 50 years. This position is based in Wisconsin, Wales, and involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the optimal performance of machinery used in turning, milling, grinding, and additive manufacturing. As a Field Service Engineer, you will act as the first responder to any issues that arise with the machines, ensuring they remain operational and efficient. Your primary duties will include the installation of new equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and providing emergency and on-call service when necessary. You will also be responsible for operational maintenance, which is essential for the longevity and reliability of the machinery. In this role, you will be expected to work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that enhance their operational capabilities. The position requires a strong technical background, as you will be dealing with complex machinery and systems. You will need to be adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime for clients. The company values a proactive approach to maintenance and service, and as such, you will be encouraged to develop and implement strategies that improve machine performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background in engineering, preferably with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical, or Electronics. However, candidates with an Associate's degree from a Technical or Vocational institution or those with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience will also be considered. A background in technical or mechanical engineering, such as Automotive, HVAC, Electrical, or Manufacturing, is highly desirable. Familiarity with reading schematics and blueprints is essential, as is a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record. Responsibilities

  • Install new machinery and equipment at client sites.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing machinery.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with electro-mechanical products.
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to assist in repairs and installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical, or Electronics preferred.
  • Associate's degree from a Technical or Vocational institution or 1-3 years of specific industry work experience preferred.
  • Background in technical or mechanical engineering such as Automotive, HVAC, Electrical, or Manufacturing.
  • 1-3 years of Field Service experience with electro-mechanical products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with reading schematics and blueprints is required.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record are mandatory.
