As a Field Service Engineer at Crane Payment Innovations (CPI), you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional technical support to our vending equipment customers. This includes responsibilities such as setup, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and training on our products. You will work closely with our internal sales teams, offering valuable market and customer insights that will help facilitate sales and improve customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between our customers and our Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams, ensuring that customer feedback is effectively communicated through detailed quality reports. Your role will directly impact the organization by efficiently managing your time based on customer needs, as documented in your customer visit reports. You will be responsible for creating and submitting detailed and timely quality reports that will inform design and process changes across teams. Your insights will also drive revenue generation through paid support, parts sales, and facilitating equipment sales. Furthermore, you will manage expenses in accordance with company guidelines and oversee car stock inventories. A focus on continuous improvement is essential, as you will be expected to research and source innovative, cost-efficient business solutions and suggest process improvements to your supervisor. To succeed in this position, you will need a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles as they relate to the setup, repair, and maintenance of vending products. While extensive knowledge of CPI products is preferred, your project management and problem-solving skills will be critical in navigating the challenges of this role. You will also need to demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and effective time management and prioritization skills, especially when managing a large geographical territory that may require overnight travel (typically up to 60%).
