As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide essential technical direction in support of the US Navy's aircraft carriers, submarines, and other support vessels. Your primary focus will be on the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright products, including steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. This role requires you to offer engineering oversight to key clients throughout various stages of equipment handling, which includes disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment. The work environment is predominantly industrial, and you should be prepared for odd hours and weekend work, which is not uncommon in this field. In this position, you will face challenges that require a strong background in heavy rotating oil lubricated machinery. Attention to detail is crucial as you will perform maintenance and overhaul activities on complex rotating machinery. You will need to read and interpret assembly and machining drawings accurately and have knowledge and experience using tooling, machining, and measurement devices. Technical troubleshooting of complex rotating machinery will be a significant part of your responsibilities, and effective communication with both internal and external customers is essential. Basic computer skills are necessary, particularly in generating complex reports using Word and Excel. Flexibility to support overtime and weekend work as necessary is also required.
