As a Field Service Engineer at Esko, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers in the flexo printing market. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a market leader in flexo platemaking solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to visit various customer locations, predominantly in the Midwest, where you will be tasked with the installation and maintenance of our advanced CDI Laser engraving and XPS UV exposure systems. You will also be responsible for training customers on the proper use of the equipment and conducting operator maintenance to ensure optimal performance. In addition to installations and training, your role will involve performing electrical, mechanical, and optical repairs, as well as application software upgrades. Preventative maintenance will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that our systems operate smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be working directly with customers to resolve issues and provide support. You will be expected to travel locally for about 40% of your time, utilizing a company car, while the remaining 60% will involve overnight or air travel throughout the USA. The work schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, allowing for a structured work-life balance. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in electronics or mechanics, whether through formal education, military technical training, or relevant experience in repairing industrial or commercial equipment. Strong electrical skills are essential, including an understanding of signal flows, connection diagrams, and the use of tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Mechanical skills are also important, as you will need to assemble components and perform fine adjustments on mechanical parts and optics. Additionally, a good understanding of PC hardware, the Windows operating system, and basic networking is required, as you will be replacing computer parts and installing device drivers as needed. The role demands a customer-oriented mindset, the ability to work independently, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver around printing equipment.
