As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools, either on-site or via telephone support. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships, as you will be working closely with clients to ensure their machinery operates efficiently. You will also be tasked with creating and updating technical documentation, which is essential for maintaining accurate records of service activities and product information. The job entails significant travel, with expectations of 75% travel or more, making it ideal for candidates who are located near an airport. The company supports its Field Service Engineers by covering all travel expenses and compensating them for travel time, including opportunities for overtime. Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools on-site or by telephone.
  • Create and update documentation of technical information.
  • Contribute to product development by assisting and training the end customer's Service Engineers on installing and maintaining newer product lines.
  • Establish and build exemplary communication and customer service relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or bachelor's in a technical field, trade schools, or certificates in relevant areas.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools.
  • Familiarity with metal and experience in installation and repairs of CNC machines.
  • Experience programming and operating CNC machines with 3, 5, or 7 axes.
  • Internships or job experience with CNC machines is preferred.
  • Experience operating or maintaining robotics such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, or Mori Seiki is a plus.
  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Siemens controls or Heidenhain is a plus.
