About the position

The Field Service Engineer is primarily responsible for problem resolution and preventative maintenance on large semiconductor fabrication equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex capital equipment at customer sites, particularly within cleanroom environments. The engineer will represent the company to customers, ensuring satisfaction with service performance and maintaining the quality of system equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot technical equipment problems
  • Repair and modify equipment at customer facility
  • Repair board level problems using standard procedures and system level failures with no standard procedures
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to other engineers on work at customer premises
  • Conduct customer orientation on equipment user applications
  • Cross train and assist other field service engineers as appropriate
  • Prepare/document reports on support activity to customers
  • Provide timely billing invoice to customer for service activity

Requirements

  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in a related field
  • Experience with KLA specific equipment such as Bright Field, PUMA, SWIFT, FILMS/Spectra, RAPID/Reticle equipment is a plus
