About the position

The Field Service Engineer plays a vital role in the manufacturing machinery and equipment industry, focusing on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced machinery at customer sites. This position requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-oriented approach, as it involves significant interaction with clients to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Install, set up, and commission manufacturing machinery and equipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs on complex machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Recommend and implement preventive measures to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to resolve operational issues and optimize machine functionality.
  • Document all service activities and share insights with the engineering team for continuous improvement.
  • Train clients' personnel on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop user-friendly documentation and guidelines.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as design, engineering, and sales to address customer feedback and technical challenges.
  • Assist in testing and validating equipment modifications or upgrades.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, regulations, and company policies during field operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience servicing manufacturing machinery, industrial automation, or related equipment.
  • Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, CNCs, and/or industrial robotics is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
