The SCIEX Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing SCIEX products at both internal and external customer sites, including our strategic accounts. This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues and mentors and develops less experienced staff members. This position is part of the Field Technical Service organization and is based in Buffalo, NY, and is fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation with a solid understanding of SCIEX or competitive products. You will also perform qualifications services and customer training, ensuring customer satisfaction at strategic accounts, and complete administrative duties such as logging service activities, expense reporting, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, install, and repair SCIEX products at customer sites.
  • Resolve assigned customer and technical issues independently.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced staff members.
  • Perform high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC, and capillary electrophoresis instrumentation.
  • Conduct qualifications services and customer training to ensure satisfaction at strategic accounts.
  • Complete administrative duties including logging service activities, expense reporting, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. Military Certificates in electronics or avionics).
  • LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis experience is required, with prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Driver's License; meet Vendor Credentialing requirements; ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to troubleshoot and follow problem-solving procedures.
  • Experience with electrical and electrical mechanical technology and follow all required safety protocols.
  • Domestic/International travel by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel may be required.
