About the position

The Field Service Engineer position is a critical role within a leading manufacturer of precision CNC manufacturing cutting tools, known for its stability and growth in the industry for over 40 years. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to work in a dynamic environment, providing maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools. The role requires a significant amount of travel, approximately 75% of the time, making it essential for candidates to be located near an airport for ease of travel. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation, contributing to product development, and training end customers' Service Engineers on the installation and maintenance of newer product lines. Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance, repair, and installation assistance for CNC machine tools on-site or by telephone.
  • Create and update documentation of technical information.
  • Contribute to product development by assisting and training the end customer's Service Engineers on installing and maintaining newer product lines.
  • Establish and build exemplary communication and customer service relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or bachelor's in a technical field, trade schools, or certificates in relevant areas.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools.
  • Familiarity with metal and experience in installation and repairs of CNC machines.
  • Experience programming and operating CNC machines with 3, 5, or 7 axes.
  • Internships or job experience with CNC machines is preferred.
  • Experience operating or maintaining robotics such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, Mori Seiki, or other machines is a plus.
  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Siemens controls or Heidenhain is a plus.
