About the position

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position is integral to our mission of empowering those seeking answers to life's most important scientific and healthcare questions. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by managing customer accounts, providing technical support, and driving service initiatives that enhance the value we offer to our clients. You will be responsible for increasing throughput, decreasing downtime, and performing regular preventive maintenance and upgrades as required by our technical staff. Your role will involve being a clear advocate for our customers, both internal and external, while also acting as a steward for the company. This remote position will support the Great Lakes market, which includes Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Western Pennsylvania, Western West Virginia, and Northern Kentucky. You will be expected to manage customer accounts comprehensively, identifying opportunities to add value through additional services such as reagents, consumables, and equipment leads. A sense of urgency is essential in this role, as you will need to address customer needs promptly, with a focus on achieving a “first time fix.” Building and cultivating customer relationships will be key, as you will be measured by your ability to meet revenue goals and support sales initiatives through lead generation. The position requires achieving an annual revenue target with expected year-over-year growth of 8-10%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer accounts in their entirety, identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on a 'first time fix'.
  • Cultivate customer relationships to achieve revenue goals and support sales initiatives.
  • Achieve annual revenue targets with expected year-over-year growth of 8-10%.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance and upgrades as required by technical staff.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, biological science, or military equivalent.
  • 4+ years of prior field service experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree in a scientific discipline is a plus.
  • Highly computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, Sales Force, and ServiceMax.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
