About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer or Field Service Technician for a direct hire opportunity with a high-tech international company that specializes in delivering innovative laser technology solutions to various sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, and Scientific research communities. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology and customer service, as it involves direct interaction with clients to ensure their equipment is functioning optimally. The role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $30 to $36.53 per hour, depending on experience, along with overtime and per diem compensation. Additionally, the company provides a generous relocation package valued between $10,000 to $15,000, which includes 4-8 weeks of apartment or extended stay hotel accommodations and 6-8 weeks of car rental for suitable candidates willing to relocate. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting customers across North America as part of the technical service group. Your primary duties will include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing company equipment to ensure high-quality service delivery. You will also be tasked with completing basic retrofits, software installations, and providing customer training. Timely and accurate completion of paperwork is essential, as is the ability to work independently to resolve technical problems while maintaining strong relationships with customers. The position may also involve additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management. Candidates must be located within 45 minutes of a major International Airport and be willing to relocate or live in Plymouth, MI, Cincinnati, OH, or St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers in North America as part of the technical service group.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair company equipment with high quality.
  • Complete basic retrofits, software installations, and customer training.
  • Complete paperwork on time with high quality.
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Two year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or a combination of training and work experience.
  • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems, or mechatronics required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a US passport and rent automobiles.
