About the position
The Field Service Engineer at thyssenkrupp Uhde USA LLC is responsible for providing technical service and support for high-pressure service offerings in the Americas, primarily focusing on the chemical industry in the Gulf Coast region. This role involves selling life cycle support solutions, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, and developing long-term relationships with key account decision-makers. The engineer will also assist in training and collaborate with sales teams to enhance service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair work of installed mechanical equipment at customer sites.
- Repair customer equipment at the tk Uhde workshop.
- Oversee machining repair work of high-pressure OEM parts.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with key account decision-makers and understand their organizational structure.
- Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions for contractors and maintenance personnel.
- Assist the sales team in developing scopes of work during site visits.
- Provide management with suggestions for improving volume, market share, and service portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Mechanical and/or millwright experience.
- Experience with instrumentation and hydraulics.
- 8 or more years of successful experience with mechanical equipment in production environments.
- High level verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Experience with End Users highly desirable.
- Knowledge of customers and competitors within the defined territory is a plus.
