The Field Service Engineer position is a critical role that involves the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of advanced imaging equipment, including PET, PET/CT, CT, SPECT, and SPECT/CT systems. This position requires a strong foundation in mechanics, electronics, optics, and computer systems, as well as a commitment to cultivating superior customer relations to ensure contract stability and continued success. The engineer will work in a field-based, customer-facing capacity, primarily responsible for servicing imaging equipment at various customer sites. This includes not only the technical aspects of installation and maintenance but also ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any unresolved issues promptly and courteously. In this role, the engineer will routinely check on the customer base to gauge client satisfaction and provide support. Effective communication with customers, team members, and management is essential, as the engineer will need to relay customer feedback, competitive insights, and sales leads to the appropriate account manager. The engineer will also provide real-time customer support, diagnosing problems, creating repair strategies, and performing necessary repairs while also training customers on the basic features and functions of the equipment and software. The position requires managing, prioritizing, and scheduling all work to meet both internal and external customer demands. The engineer will perform system installations, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, refurbishing, routine maintenance, and validation, all while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company standards. Maintaining performance standards by meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is crucial, as is completing and maintaining training and certification for the systems serviced. The role may also involve other duties as determined by management, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
