About the position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) at Gastite plays a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions to customers through training and support. This position involves collaborating with a team of support personnel to develop training materials and provide comprehensive training to Gastite/Flashshield+/Python customers and sales staff on the effective use of the company's products. The FSE will engage in product and process improvement initiatives based on direct interactions with customers and product installations, ensuring a high level of communication with mechanical contractors, regional officials, and various departments within the company. In the realm of product development, the FSE will contribute valuable insights regarding new product opportunities and assist in the specification, design, packaging, and field-testing of new products. This role requires frequent interaction with marketing and research and development (R&D) teams, performing tests on both existing and prototype parts, documenting testing results, and preparing detailed reports. Additionally, the FSE will be responsible for developing training materials and providing input to marketing efforts to support successful sales launches. Customer support is another critical aspect of the FSE role, which includes delivering Gastite/Flashshield+/Python system training in the field and providing technical support to mechanical contractors, building officials, and plumbing and HVAC/R distributors. The FSE will also be involved in supporting and navigating building code processes, ensuring compliance and understanding among stakeholders. The position demands a strong mechanical aptitude, practical knowledge of plumbing and HVAC/R contracting, and the ability to meet all safety requirements. The FSE is expected to be a team player, willing to assist with additional tasks as business needs evolve, and to maintain a proactive approach to customer engagement and product support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training materials and provide training to customers and sales staff on company products.
  • Contribute to product development by providing input on new product opportunities and supporting new product specifications, design, packaging, and field-testing.
  • Perform tests on existing and prototype parts, record results, and prepare reports.
  • Provide technical support and training in the field to mechanical contractors, building officials, and plumbing and HVAC/R distributors.
  • Support and participate in building code processes as required.
  • Meet all safety requirements in the execution of job duties.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and practical mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in the HVAC/R and plumbing contracting industry.
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience, with an AS in Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred.
