About the position

Nordson Corporation is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Field Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for performing on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems. This position is critical to our success as a market leader in Industrial Precision Solutions and Advanced Technology. You will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data review of identifiable factors is required. Your ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices will be essential in determining appropriate actions to take in various situations. As a Field Service Engineer, you will check out and approve the operational quality of system equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will communicate and resolve issues with customers to ensure successful sign-off on projects. Instructing customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will providing exceptional customer service to both new and existing clients. This position requires a significant amount of travel, estimated at 70%, which includes both domestic and international travel. You will serve as the company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects, and you may be assigned additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
  • Check out and approve operational quality of system equipment.
  • Communicate and resolve issues to ensure successful sign-off with customers.
  • Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to new and existing customers.
  • Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
  • Travel as required, estimated at 70% domestic and international.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience; OR 5 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of field service semiconductor or electro-mechanical equipment (X-Ray or Bond Test) preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to serve and train customers effectively.
  • Experience successfully servicing electronic equipment strongly preferred.
  • Basic electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Experience using Salesforce preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel, including intermittent international travel is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in semiconductor or electro-mechanical equipment service.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in electro-mechanical systems.
