About the position

Volt is hiring a Field Service Engineer to work for our client, focusing on the Texas and Louisiana areas in a direct hire opportunity. In this role, you will be deeply involved in various aspects of the business, from acquiring essential data to planning long-term development strategies. Your responsibilities will include organizing, running, and reporting operations in the field environment, as well as assisting specialists and other engineers with key decisions. This position offers hands-on training, allowing you to learn about the energy industry and become an expert in the various equipment and services provided by the company. You will be expected to learn quickly and take on significant responsibilities, with the support needed to make a meaningful impact and start your journey as a leader in the oil and gas sector. As a Field Service Engineer, you will perform installation and maintenance tasks while being accountable for equipment performance and the integrity of operations. You will manage field operations, which include engineering design, maintenance, job planning, and operational reporting. Additionally, you will support engineers and specialists on-site, assisting with essential duties such as risk analysis. Your role will also involve programming and commissioning of Yokogawa DCS or Delta-V DCS systems, coordinating with the project team for scheduling, scope management, and execution, and ensuring adherence to company specifications and industry regulations. You will be responsible for developing necessary software and assisting in the integration and startup of control systems, as well as providing detailed written and verbal reports to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and be accountable for equipment performance and integrity of operations.
  • Manage field operations, including engineering design, maintenance, job planning, and operational reporting.
  • Support engineers and specialists on-site and assist with essential duties, such as risk analysis.
  • Programming and commissioning of Yokogawa DCS or Delta-V DCS systems.
  • Coordinate with project team for scheduling, scope management, and execution.
  • Ensure adherence to company specifications and industry regulations.
  • Develop necessary software and assist in the integration and startup of control systems.
  • Provide detailed written and verbal reports to clients.

Requirements

  • Must have experience with Rockwell PLC's (Logix 5000), Wonderware HMI, Plant Pax, Delta-V, Yokogawa or a complementary mix of programming and commissioning of these systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or applied science, or 5-10 years of applicable experience in this field.
  • A driven and committed personality that acts with integrity.
  • Super motivated with a passion to work outdoors and the ability to commit to travel.
