About the position

The Field Service Engineer role at Actalent involves installing semiconductor equipment and providing direct customer support to troubleshoot issues. This position emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and mechanical knowledge, requiring engineers to follow documented procedures and effectively communicate complex concepts to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair maintenance on complex electronic/electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Assist in customer escalations and manage beta-site projects.
  • Create and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through advanced customer service skills, implementing fast quality responses to both internal and external customers while maintaining a safety-first mentality.
  • Develop action plans for problem resolution and be able to present to internal and external customers.
  • Develop improvements for processes, hardware, and software for continuous improvement of equipment/business operations.

Requirements

  • Electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience through BSEE/ME degree, internships, work experience, or hobbies.
  • Knowledge of mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics and how to apply them to equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel to Phoenix, AZ for training for 6-8 weeks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in semiconductor equipment.
