We are currently seeking a talented Field Service Engineer who thrives on troubleshooting complex systems and ensuring peak performance. This role is essential as you will serve as the backbone of our customer relationships, acting as the bridge between our production team and our clients. Your efforts will ensure seamless pre- and post-sale experiences, which are critical to our business success. In this position, you will collaborate closely with Service Engineering to mission and troubleshoot sensor systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex in-house system functions, utilizing your technical skills to pinpoint issues using electrical schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes. Additionally, you will configure and calibrate final system configurations prior to delivery, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality. Maintaining and updating technical documentation will also be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all processes are well-documented and accessible for future reference. This role requires travel, as you will be visiting client sites to provide on-the-ground support and ensure that our systems are functioning optimally. Your technical expertise and customer service skills will be vital in building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, ultimately contributing to their satisfaction and the overall success of VPG.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Service Engineering to mission and troubleshoot sensor systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex in-house system functions.
  • Utilize electrical schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to pinpoint issues.
  • Configure and calibrate final system configurations pre-delivery.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Strong comprehension of electrical schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and MS Suite.
  • A love for learning, with programming experience being a plus.
  • Demonstrated positive and collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to thrive in both independent and team-oriented environments.
