About the position

At VPG, we are a global leader in high-precision sensor technology, dedicated to keeping the world safe and running smoothly. We are currently seeking a talented Field Service Engineer who thrives on troubleshooting complex systems and ensuring peak performance. This role is essential as you will be the backbone of our customer relationships, acting as the bridge between our production team and our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure seamless pre- and post-sale experiences for our customers, which is critical to our success in the industry. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Service Engineering team to mission and troubleshoot sensor systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex in-house system functions, utilizing your technical skills to pinpoint issues using electrical schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes. Additionally, you will configure and calibrate final system configurations prior to delivery, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality. Maintaining and updating technical documentation will also be a key part of your role, as it is vital for ongoing support and service. This position requires travel, as you will be visiting client sites to provide support and ensure that our systems are functioning optimally. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with clients will be crucial in this role, as you will be representing VPG and our commitment to excellence in service.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Service Engineering to mission and troubleshoot sensor systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex in-house system functions.
  • Utilize electrical schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes to pinpoint issues.
  • Configure and calibrate final system configurations pre-delivery.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Holding an Engineering degree preferred, but not required.
  • Having 3+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong comprehension for electrical schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and MS Suite.
  • Possessing a love for learning, with programming experience a plus.
  • Demonstrating a positive and collaborative spirit.
  • Thriving in both independent and team-oriented environments.
