About the position

The Field Service Engineer role is a permanent position focused on providing technical support and maintenance for packaging equipment across various industries. This position involves significant travel, both domestically and internationally, and requires a blend of engineering skills, customer service, and hands-on fieldwork. The engineer will troubleshoot complex systems, perform routine maintenance, and ensure optimal performance of machinery while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Providing on-site technical support to clients, troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery and systems.
  • Performing routine maintenance and inspections on equipment, identifying potential issues, and taking preventative action.
  • Utilizing knowledge of wiring and PLC to install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Developing and implementing solutions for technical problems to minimize disruption to clients' operations.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and effectively communicating with clients to understand their needs.
  • Writing detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, and providing recommendations for future service needs.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to share knowledge and improve processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
  • Proven experience with wiring, PLC, troubleshooting, and field service.
  • A degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as required for on-site support.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development.
