About the position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) role at Principal Service Solutions involves the installation, qualification, repair, and maintenance of Metrology systems at customer sites. This position is crucial for ensuring the quality of operations in high-tech companies, providing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency. The FSE will also be responsible for transferring knowledge to customers and maintaining various subsystems of semiconductor equipment. Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned formal and on-the-job training with the goal of instrument certification.
  • Manage and maintain traveling inventory according to department policy and procedure.
  • Protect and maintain company property.
  • Respond to messages and service calls from customers in accordance with service department policies.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received.
  • Portray professionalism and pride in appearance while conforming to company policies.
  • Provide a positive attitude to all employees and customers.
  • Comply and adhere to company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • AS degree in Electronics Engineering or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience as a minimum.
  • BS degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of analog and digital circuitry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with management, co-workers, and customers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information regarding service activities and schedules.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to perform service calls on one or more models of a product line.
  • Knowledge and understanding of physics and chemistry.
  • Ability to work from schematics using various test equipment and mathematical calculations specific to electronics.
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers and service department personnel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, and computers.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics.
