About the position
The Field Service Engineer at Sun Test Systems, Inc. is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and modification of telecommunications equipment in the field. This role involves providing technical support, conducting equipment demonstrations, and managing customer relationships, particularly within the US Military Flight line and Hangar operations. The position requires significant travel and interaction with diverse teams and customers, ensuring that technical solutions meet product and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify telecommunications equipment in the field.
- Provide equipment demonstrations, training, and technical sales support.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and systems issues.
- Determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications.
- Conduct technical analysis of product implementations and modifications.
- Assess customer needs and recommend solutions based on specifications.
- Conduct technical training and product briefings with customers and vendors.
- Act as the local on-site representative to the customer's organization.
- Manage territory responsibilities including preventive maintenance and upgrades.
- Provide service support in the US Military Flight line and Hangar operation.
- Manage individual parts, online training, and administrative expense reporting.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to travel up to 75%.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and own a suitable automobile for travel.
- Proven delivery record with systems engineering, testing, and integration experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse personnel and teams.
- Pass background security check for US Military Base Access.
- Experience working with US Army/DoD customers in flight line operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems, operating systems, databases, networking, and firewalls.
- Ability to organize and express ideas clearly in individual or group situations.
- Possess appropriate technical knowledge in electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer, or related disciplines.
- Ability to manage assigned workload within time constraints.
