About the position

The Field Service Engineer role involves providing on-site and remote support for customers in the maintenance, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools. This position requires extensive travel, with the engineer expected to be on-site for customer support while also creating technical documentation and assisting in product development through training. The role emphasizes excellent communication and customer service skills, supported by an in-house tech team.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and telephone support for customers regarding maintenance, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools.
• Create and update technical documentation.
• Assist in product development by training end customers' Service Engineers on the installation and maintenance of new product lines.
• Establish and maintain excellent communication and customer service relationships with clients.

Requirements

• Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of metalworking, installation, repairs, and programming/operating CNC machines with 3, 5, or 7 axes is advantageous.
• Experience with robotics (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, Mori Seiki, etc.), Siemens controls, or Heidenhain is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
