About the position

This role is responsible for providing customer service solutions related to the installation and validation of new systems, as well as planned and corrective maintenance of installed systems. The Field Service Engineer will focus on improving system utilization and supporting lifecycle management activities in assigned accounts for all products distributed or supported by Advanced Sterilization Products. This position requires proactive collaboration on business initiatives with Sales and clinical education field teams to ensure high-value business solutions that drive customer loyalty and sustain ASP's install base. The Field Service Engineer will perform the installation, operation, planned maintenance, repair, and modification of ASP systems within their assigned territory. This includes handling compliance and documentation requirements, ensuring that all performance and maintenance records on equipment are accurately documented daily. The role also involves working closely with leadership, customers, and scheduling personnel to coordinate all necessary work for products serviced by the Company's technical service division. Additionally, the engineer will manage their personal “trunk” inventory and complete required audits to support this inventory effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with three years of related experience, which includes at least one year of technical troubleshooting experience and one year of customer service experience. Alternatively, a candidate with two years of post-secondary technical education and one year of customer service experience will also be considered. Preferred qualifications include a post-secondary degree or certification in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, or a related field, as well as experience in a field service environment, biomedical support in a hospital setting, or a related industry such as medical devices. Excellent mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical learning skills are essential, along with preferred knowledge in Computer Networking, Electronics, and Electrical basics. The ability to autonomously prioritize schedules and flexibly handle shifting priorities is crucial, as is the willingness to travel to hospital and surgery center environments locally, regionally, and nationally, up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales and clinical education field teams to deliver high-value business solutions that drive customer loyalty and sustain ASP's install base.
  • Perform the installation, operation, planned maintenance, repair, and modification of ASP systems within assigned territory.
  • Handle compliance and documentation requirements of primary territory, including daily documenting performance and maintenance records on equipment.
  • Work with leadership, customers, and scheduling personnel to schedule all work required for products serviced by the Company's technical service division.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years related experience, including at least 1-year technical troubleshooting experience and 1 year customer service experience.
  • Or 2 years post-secondary technical education plus 1 year customer service experience.
  • Preferred post-secondary degree or certification in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical or related field.
  • Preferred experience in a field service environment, in biomedical support in a hospital environment, or in a related industry such as medical devices.
  • Excellent mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical learning skills with preferred knowledge in Computer Networking, Electronics & Electrical basics.
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously prioritize schedule and flexibly handle shifting priorities with the ability to travel to hospital/surgery center environments locally, regionally, and nationally up to 50%.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record compliant with Company policy.
