About the position

The Field Service Manager is responsible for overseeing service operations within a district, leading a team of field service technicians to achieve operational objectives. This role involves customer maintenance and growth, as well as supporting the acquisition process. The manager will ensure service execution, manage customer relationships, and enforce workplace safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall operations of specific Service Team(s) including execution of contracts, emergency service, quoted work renewals, warranty and change requests.
  • Source, secure, and maintain customer relationships within a specific district.
  • Assist the Area Service Manager in developing forecasts, identifying cost-savings opportunities, and assessing areas of risk and/or exposure.
  • Help create, review, and validate customer contracts and estimates.
  • Assess department manpower needs and support the talent acquisition process for Service Technician positions, including recruitment and candidate selection.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for assigned Service Technicians and recommend merit increases, promotions, and training.
  • Facilitate disciplinary actions and dismissals as necessary.
  • Enforce all workplace safety policies including OSHA regulations.
  • Support customer billing and collection processes as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership and business acumen preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
