About the position

The Field Service Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of Field Service Technicians, ensuring efficient coordination and scheduling of their work. This role involves direct communication with customers regarding job status and quotes, as well as collaboration with other departments to meet customer and employee needs. The manager will also oversee the work order process, provide coaching and mentorship to team members, and maintain technical knowledge of the equipment serviced by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in managing Field Service Technicians.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage technicians' time and work orders.
  • Communicate with customers regarding quotes, job status, and scheduling.
  • Coach and mentor service department team members.
  • Manage hiring, performance, and overall people management of technicians.
  • Utilize service scheduling and Ewalk tools to manage work orders.
  • Review and approve daily timecards for employees.
  • Seek customer feedback and respond to issues promptly.
  • Process repair work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitate employee reviews and meetings.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of equipment sold by the dealership.
  • Handle warranty claims and collaborate with the Central Warranty Department.
  • Encourage open communication and teamwork within the department.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience and foster long-term relationships.
  • Manage physical and financial resources effectively.
  • Implement and improve safe business practices and processes.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Technical knowledge related to field service operations.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or technical school education preferred.
