About the position

The Product Support role at Caterpillar Inc. involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment at customer locations, focusing on turbomachinery and package systems. This position emphasizes customer service through on-site preventive maintenance, inspection, and commissioning activities, ensuring that equipment operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions, referring to schematics and manufacturers' specifications as needed.
• Under supervision, use hand tools, gauges, and instruments to analyze, repair, or replace faulty parts, utilizing digital tools and systems.
• Observe and check for common causes of trouble, such as dirty or defective components, and perform cleaning and lubrication of equipment with guidance.
• Under supervision, perform routine installations and make adjustments to equipment as appropriate.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations.
• Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in the oil and gas industry.
