About the position

The Field Service Representative position at Kelly Services in Norco, Louisiana, is a full-time contract-to-direct opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician/Mechanic. The role involves operating, monitoring, and optimizing industrial equipment performance, performing maintenance and troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The position requires a valid TWIC card and offers a swing shift schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and optimize industrial equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment.
  • Conduct analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, and other site-specific tests.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and chemicals, and create site paperwork.
  • Provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
  • Carry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
  • Partner with customer management and operation teams to advise on system performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification or international equivalent and 2+ years' experience in service/maintenance in an industrial environment, or a Bachelor or Associate's Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming and/or water treatment equipment.
  • 2 years of electrical, plant-site, or maintenance experience.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Team player, hands-on, self-motivated.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Familiarity with water treatment processing.
  • Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals and safety manuals.
  • Mathematical skills, including operations in all units of measure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
