About the position

The Field Service Representative at Caterpillar Inc. is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment at customer locations. This role emphasizes customer service, requiring on-site preventive maintenance, inspection service work, and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems. The representative will utilize various tools and technical diagrams to diagnose and repair equipment, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations.
• Perform on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work.
• Conduct call-out services and commissioning activities on turbomachinery and package systems.
• Use test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions.
• Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications for problem-solving.
• Analyze, repair, or replace faulty parts under supervision.
• Utilize digital tools and systems for service tasks.
• Observe and check for common causes of trouble, such as dirty or defective components.
• Perform routine installations and make adjustments to equipment as appropriate.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in customer service and field service roles.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing and maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with turbomachinery and package systems.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in oil and gas environments.
• Basic understanding of troubleshooting technical problems.
