About the position

The Field Service Representative at AM General LLC is responsible for providing expert support on automotive systems, particularly the JLTV and HMMWV vehicles. This role involves conducting field service support, troubleshooting automotive issues, and ensuring high levels of customer service. The representative will also serve as a liaison between customers and various departments, while promoting training and service capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on automotive systems including JLTV and HMMWV.
  • Support contract requirements by conducting field service support to customers worldwide.
  • Provide detailed field service reports outlining program status, deficiencies, and repairs.
  • Perform maintenance and services in support of department operations.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and permanently correct automotive electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
  • Promote AM General Training and Field Service capabilities to customers.
  • Serve as liaison between customer field operations and manufacturing, engineering, and quality for component issues.
  • Support engineering during testing efforts at various test sites.
  • Support the Training department.
  • Assist customers with technical and service inquiries.

Requirements

  • Automotive vocational degree or five years of automotive technical experience.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Extremely strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to secure a US Government Security Clearance.
  • Must hold a currently valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Automotive Service and Excellence (ASE) Certifications.
  • Prior Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) experience in maintenance related to JLTV and HMMWV.
  • Experience as an instructor.
  • Extensive working knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment.
  • Solid understanding of the theory and operation of a CAN BUS network.
  • Experience with Total Package Fielding (TPF) as it pertains to the JLTV.
