Field Service Engineers are expected to work in a clean room environment, donning protective gear such as bunny suits, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, and safety boots. The role includes on-site installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Engineers will also perform upgrades and modifications as necessary, order and install parts, and instruct customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance. Maintaining professional conduct is crucial, as engineers must uphold the standards set by both Tokyo Electron and our customers to retain credentials for working on-site. This position requires a rotating shift schedule to ensure continuous support for our customers, highlighting the importance of flexibility and adaptability in this role. The physical demands of the job include working in confined spaces, performing tasks in awkward positions, and occasionally requiring lifting and carrying objects up to 35 pounds. Engineers must also adhere to industry safety procedures when dealing with hazardous conditions, including chemicals, electric currents, and high voltage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct upgrades and modifications to equipment as needed.
  • Order and install parts for equipment maintenance.
  • Instruct customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain standards of conduct acceptable to both TEL and customers to retain credentials for being on customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; or associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Completion of military technical training and field experience may substitute for an associate degree.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without Sponsorship.
  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
  • Basic professional communication skills and ability to build constructive workplace business relationships.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter.
