About the position

The Field Service Technician 2 at Cubic Corporation is responsible for performing testing, repair, and maintenance activities on equipment at field sites. This role involves operating and maintaining both digital and analog electronic devices, troubleshooting assemblies to the board level, and working under close supervision. The technician will interface with customer agencies, ensuring professional communication and effective problem-solving related to equipment malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, repair, and maintenance activities on equipment at field sites.
• Operate and maintain digital and analog electronic devices.
• Troubleshoot assemblies to the board level.
• Interface with customer agency in a professional manner.
• Identify and analyze equipment malfunctions using maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Maintain records of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Assist other site technicians in solving hardware and software issues.
• Perform general maintenance on all installed equipment.
• Build cable assemblies and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) as required.

Requirements

• Two-year college degree or equivalent in electronics, computer science, information systems, or related technical field.
• 2-3 years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions to rework, repair, test, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods, and to climb stairs.
• Ability to work in hectic and noisy environments.
