About the position
The Field Service Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment in remote locations. This role emphasizes safety and efficiency to minimize downtime, while also providing opportunities for skill development in service or operation management. The technician will work with a diverse fleet that includes aerial work platforms, construction tools, and specialty equipment such as generators and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair equipment issues in a timely manner to avoid downtime.
- Work in various challenging remote locations as required.
- Collaborate with team members in a safety-focused environment.
- Maintain knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems for troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel or heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; CDL may be required in some locations.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) may be required based on location needs.
- Ability to provide mechanic's tools of trade.
