About the position

The Field Service Technician at Rapiscan Systems is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of security and inspection equipment. This role requires strong electronic repair skills and the ability to respond to service calls efficiently, maintaining high standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the field.
  • Achieve contractual requirements for metrics, information reporting and customer management.
  • Respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service daily within established response time goals.
  • Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction at assigned sites/locations.
  • Complete all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work, submitting paperwork in required time frame.
  • Order, install, and return parts per regulation.
  • Maintain a safe/clean work environment and ensure adherence to company safety procedures and product workmanship procedures.
  • Report all accident and safety incidents, completing accident reports when required and working with management to investigate and implement corrective actions.
  • Complete all training courses within a timely manner with stated passing grades.
  • Uphold the Company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Report any quality problems or defects to management for corrective action.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent military training or experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a field service environment, preferably in the x-ray industry, or a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope) and experience with high voltage and x-ray producing equipment preferred.
  • Clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with competency in MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the x-ray industry is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with high voltage and x-ray producing equipment.
