Field Service Technician - CNC Repair

About the position

The Field Service Technician - CNC Repair at Hartwig is responsible for ensuring that CNC machine tools operate at peak efficiency for customers in Texas. This role involves repairing, inspecting, and troubleshooting CNC equipment, providing training to customers, and recommending improvements to enhance machine performance. The technician will work primarily from the Houston office and travel to customer sites, typically within a three-hour radius, with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high quality, efficient and timely repair of CNC machines
• Recommend modifications and improvements to machines, equipment and processes
• Train and instruct customers on service and repair
• Use software and electrical tools to find damaged work parts and identify permanent solutions to repair computer controlled machines and accessories
• Complete necessary tasks in service software and timecard system on a daily basis
• Travel to customer sites, usually within 3 hours from home, with occasional overnight travel

Requirements

• Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC Machines preferred
• Experience installing and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
• Experience repairing and servicing CNC machines preferred
• Ability to work independently and proactively find customers in need of assistance
• Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure fleet vehicle insurability
