About the position

The Field Service Technician position at Kodiak Gas Services is an entry-level role focused on assisting with the operation of compressor packages and equipment. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring high mechanical availability of equipment. This role requires participation in HSE meetings and adherence to safety protocols, along with a commitment to professional development and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform job activities in accordance with Kodiak's procedures and objectives.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and build troubleshooting skills through on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
• Attend and participate in all HSE meetings, ensuring adherence to HSE protocols.
• Analyze job parts and supply inventory to communicate needs with Supply Chain.
• Maintain customer relationships effectively.
• Take corrective actions to ensure 98% or better mechanical availability of equipment.
• Keep assigned units clean and presentable.
• Complete reports and actions required by operating procedures and policies.
• Provide 24/7 coverage and be available for on-call rotations, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: OEM, Trade School, or comparable work experience in a related field/industry.
• Successful completion of Kodiak's Short Service Employee (SSE) program.
• Some knowledge in gas processes and mechanics of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.).
• 1-year compression process, production, and equipment-related experience and/or training.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and self-motivation.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Basic knowledge of compressor packages and their components.
• Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English required.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
