About the position

The Field Service Technician I at Hach is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service through preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration of Hach devices at customer sites. This role supports municipal and industrial clients, ensuring the functionality and reliability of water quality instrumentation. The position involves significant travel within a two-hour radius of Yonkers, New York, and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on water quality while working in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Follow safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Execute administrative activities in support of service visits.

Requirements

  • Associates/Technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair - Basic mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • 1 or more years of field service experience and/or customer facing roles preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.
