About the position

As a Field Service Technician I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the readiness of medical devices for patient utilization. This position involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, disinfecting, performing operational function checks, and conducting minor repairs on both Baxter and non-Baxter products. You will initially work the first month on the 1st shift, after which you will transition to the evening shift to deliver products to our clients. Your work will directly impact the healthcare environment, as Baxter's products and therapies are utilized in hospitals, clinics, and homes worldwide. The Field Service team operates within hospitals and service settings, focusing on the repair and delivery of medical devices. As a Field Service Technician, you will receive thorough training on Baxter devices, building upon your existing mechanical or technical knowledge. This role requires you to move and inspect medical products, load and unload equipment, troubleshoot repairs, and perform routine maintenance. You will also be responsible for providing on-call coverage, which may include weekends and holidays, and demonstrating product usage to hospital staff and caregivers. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is essential, and you will be expected to adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Move and inspect medical products within Baxter service centers, healthcare facilities, and private homes.
  • Load and unload Baxter products and maneuver medical equipment within truck beds.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate any needed repairs.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on Baxter products.
  • Provide on-call coverage, up to 24/7 basis including weekends and holidays, which may require customer account visits.
  • Navigate electronic devices like smartphone, tablet, or PC to enter in or acquire information.
  • Demonstrate how to use Baxter products to hospital staff, caregivers, and other participants.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work environment, including 5S activities (sort, set in-order, sweep, standardize and sustain).
  • Safely operate a company vehicle ranging in size from a cargo van up to a 26,000-pound truck.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds using appropriate processes, including proper safety and ergonomic procedures.
  • Complete all required safety and compliance modules and medical testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Obtain and maintain a DOT physical card.
