About the position

The Field Service Technician I position at Dashiell involves performing electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations. This role is designed for individuals looking to develop their job knowledge and skills in the high voltage industry, with closely supervised assignments that enhance their technical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems in electrical systems.
• Generate technical reports detailing services provided and corrective actions taken.
• Represent the company professionally when interfacing with clients.
• Communicate project status and scheduling needs to management.
• Prioritize safety in all work activities.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the high voltage industry preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of The Power Triangle and electrical schematics.
• Ability to perform basic current transformer tests and understand AC & DC fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, ICEA, and NETA standards.
• Proven communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work safely in hazardous situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of various metering configurations and connections.
